Before there was a race team, there was an E46.

Afiléon Motorsport did not begin with a business plan or a polished paddock. It grew from years of building, breaking, repairing and learning — then finding a practical way to keep a grassroots racing ambition moving.

Where it began

2020. One BMW. No race team.

In 2020, the BMW E46 arrived as an ordinary road car and became the project that quietly laid the foundations for everything that followed.

Over the years it was lowered, stripped, repainted, modified and continually developed. Coilovers, a high-lift camshaft, exhaust work, wheels and countless smaller changes turned it into a hands-on mechanical education. At one stage it even carried a subwoofer setup — because the project was never born as a carefully planned race-car programme. It was simply a car we enjoyed building.

An accident later forced a substantial rebuild. Damaged parts were replaced, bodywork repaired and the car returned to the road. It was painted again and changed again, but one feature survived every version: black and orange.

THE COLOURS STAY

The E46 now predates Afiléon Motorsport itself. Repainting it simply to match the current neon identity would make the fleet more uniform, but it would erase a visible part of the reason the team exists. The black-and-orange car stays.

Eventually the project sat largely unused. Then the idea changed. Instead of starting another road-car build, the ambition became simple: go racing.

The reality of grassroots motorsport

Build the operation that keeps the dream alive.

The cost of arriving at a circuit is relentless: transport, preparation, equipment, entries, fuel, consumables and repairs. Rather than let those costs end the programme, Afiléon Motorsport began developing the practical services we ourselves needed.

01 / PREPARE

Inspection & support

Pre-track-day inspections, mechanical readiness and practical paddock assistance.

02 / MOVE

Vehicle transport

Trailer-based transport built from the same logistical problem the race programme had to solve.

03 / DRIVE

Accessible seat time

A road-based BMW E46 track-day hire platform intended to lower the barrier to getting useful circuit experience.

2020 → Now

A project became an operation.

The timeline is deliberately simple. Each step solved the problem created by the step before it.

2020

The E46

The original project begins.

Build • Break • Rebuild

Six years of learning

Modification, repair, experimentation and mechanical development.

The Trailer

Infrastructure first

The equipment required to go racing comes before the race car.

The Porsche 924

Purpose-built competition

A race car with established competition history joins the operation.

Afiléon Motorsport

The team takes shape

The project becomes a structured family-built motorsport programme.

The Next Step

Make it sustainable

Track-day support, inspections, transport and hire help build an operation capable of supporting its own future.

The purpose

Same roads. Higher standards.

What began with one BMW now encompasses a race programme, track-day services, transport, technical support and the ambition to build something sustainable for the years ahead.
